Here are 35 photos by Les Tindall of this metre-gauge coal-carrying railway in north west Spain, which was worked by steam until 1981. The line opened in 1919, was 64km long and was heavily engineered. It carried coal from mines near Vilablino to a power station at Cubillon or to the RENFE network at Ponferrada. There was a passenger service. The line remained in service until about 2012.
