PKP EU06 - final railtour

    Looks like 2012 is the final year of EU06 operations.
    PKP are having a final railtour for the class from Krakow to Krynica (quite some journey into the southern mountains and a long day out).

    Tickets are interestingly priced to say the least...

    If you book via the official site it will cost you £95, or €120.

    however if you can read the Polish version and have a polish bank account it will cost you 120pln (around £24)?

    Eitherway... It's a last chance to have a ride behind a British Built (English electric) product based around the class 83. There's around 6 left in service.

    Obviously there polish built cousins have many more years left.

    EU06-01 will be preserved at Chabowka museum.

    Sad to see the end of these fine looking machines. No way I can go on this trip but I'm sure I must have had a few trips behind them in the 1990s.

    One would look very nice in the ACLG's collection... (yes, I know they are not a.c. machines!)
