Vandals have caused an estimated £50,000 of damage to the train made famous by the Harry Potter films.

A gang of six youths are thought to be responsible for smashing about 200 windows on the Hogwarts Express, which is stored in Carnforth, Lancashire.

POLICE investigating £50,000 worth of damage to several trains – including Harry Potter's Hogwart's Express – are following up several leads thanks to help from the public.

More than 220 windows were smashed on the trains when a gang of youths broke into the West Coast Railway depot in Crag Bank earlier this month.
