Only 23 minutes for a loco change at York? Let's hope the right signaller is on duty as sometimes it seems that they won't allow anything to move if there's a service train expected to arrive within the next 15 minutes.

Not many bodies on board leaving York.
The dog in the lead coach seemed to be enjoying barking at everybody though.

Even with a modest 7 coach load, the crews were not taking it easy yesterday, and performance was the name of the game. I calculate that she was doing 57 at Shotlock and 49 at Birkett Tunnel - wonderful given that Birkett is often considered to be the slowest part of the climb, and that she was heading into a strong south-westerly.

Thanks that would then make a very good additional shot to mix with your first location.
