Advance notice of something special planned in conjunction with the 9th Annual Diesel Gala & Beer Festival ............

    SUBJECT TO FINAL CONFIRMATION
The Swanage Railway is delighted to announce plans to run 'additional' mainline charters utilising a Class 20 supplied by Class Twenty Locomotives Limited [possibly 20227] hauling London Underground's 4-TC unit.
The 'Purbeck Explorer 1' tour is intended to operate on Wednesday 7th May with proposed times of Castle Bar Park (10:00), picking up at Kensington Olympia (10:40), Clapham Junction (C) (11:00), Wimbledon (11:35) and Basingstoke (12:45) en route to Swanage, arriving late afternoon. Single (one-way) ticket price is £34.50 per person.
The 'Purbeck Explorer 2' tour is intended to depart Swanage late afternoon on Sunday 11th May returning to Basingstoke (approx. 20:00) then setting down at Reading General (20:35), Ealing Broadway (21:15) then [via Neasden Curve and Wembley Stadium] to West Ruislip (approx. 21:50). Single (one-way) ticket price is £34.50 per person.
PLEASE NOTE - AT THIS STAGE BOTH TOURS ARE SUBJECT TO FINAL CONFIRMATION AND PENDING THE MAINLINE REGISTRATION OF LU's 4-TC UNIT.
In due course, further information on proposed timings and pick up/set down points on the Purbeck Explorers, along with details on the seating arrangements, plus seat reservations should appear on the Swanage Railway's website. This is currently being re-vamped and will be updated as soon as possible.
Both charters will have limited seating availability, and demand is likely to be high, so advance reservation is highly recommend.
ALSO NOTE - CURRENTLY YOU ARE ONLY ABLE TO APPLY FOR TICKETS, WITH PAYMENT, PENDING CONFIRMATION OF THE TWO "PURBECK EXPLORERS".

Suggest a call to the Swanage Railway Reservations Department (01929 475207) to reserve a place on one or both workings. A list of interested persons has been created in case approval is forthcoming.
