Yesterday morning I put stacks of 40 leaflets for a number of heritage railways in the dispensers at Rudyard Station. I was a little mischievous and placed the festiniog, welsh highland and welsh highland heritage railway next to each other. At tea time today I went back and was a little surprised to find in order of popularity
    1. Welsh Highland( all leaflets gone)
    2. Britains Great Little Railway 2010 leaflet (nearly all gone)
    3. Welsh Highland Heritage Railway (about 15 left)
    4. Festiniog Railway ( 30 left)
    5. Peak Rail ( 35 left)
    6. East Lancashire railway ( 38 left)
We have not been especially busy and we dont appear to have had many enthusiasts. So this seems to be the general public showing its interest. I am really surpised at the level of interest in the welsh highland narrow gauge railways 100 miles away in preference to other standard gauge lines nearer us. Anyone else care to give it a try say on a standard gauge line.
