RAIL.ONE opens new North American production facility

    RAIL.ONE has completed work on a new concrete rail tie works in Clinton, Iowa.

    The new $22 million site, which will create around 65 new jobs, will produce 600,000 concrete ties a year for companies across North America.

    RAIL.ONE already has sites in Germany, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey, South Korea and Hungary. The 13th will focus on production of concrete ties and ballastless track systems.

    Jochen Riepl, chief executive officer of RAIL.ONE, said: “The plant in Clinton is one of the most modern production facilities in the concrete tie industry.

    “That we are able today – after less than a year of construction time – to put it into operation is an unheard-of achievement for our team, to whom I am genuinely thankful.”
