As some people might have younger children, grandchildren or great grandchildren with them at the moment during the holidays, I thought I'd give a head's up that 'Mr Bloom out and about' has an episode at Bo'ness which was on this week.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episo...ere-and-there-series-1-2-steam-railway-museum

There is also an episode of Something Special at Swanage as well on youtube. Depending on your feelings about Mr Tumble. :)

TONIGHT (Fri 10) 1930h BBC1 in the north of England only, "The Lakes with Paul Rose" includes a segment on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway (filmed last year). Should subsequently be available on IPlayer anywhere in the UK.

Does it involve a tragic accident in which he falls off the pier?

Not a fan of Mr Tumble? It could be worse, it could be the new Teletubbies. Thus far no railways have turned up on the Teletubbies.

I am not a fan of Mr Tumble. And my friends who can speak Makaton tell me his signing is not actually very good - he's really quite sloppy.

As for the Teletubbies - I really don't want to know the details of how they had babies.

Give me the episode of Do You Know about how Bewdley North box works any day; even though I can spot all the continuity errors where the lever worked is not the right one for the piece of equipment that moves.

Oh yes they have! I can't remember the railway, but there's definitely been a preserved line on Teletubbies. Mr Tumble has also been to Ribble Steam Railway at Preston. Luckily my little boy isn't too bothered by either programme, he's far more interested in Postman Pat.

Greendale’s services having been a victim of the Beeching Axe.

The Ninky-Nonk is a train and about as reliable and comfortable as any service in the UK.

I’ll keep my eyes out for the episode of Do you know, Mr Tumble at Preston and the Teletubbies on trains.

A damn sight more room inside than most on the mainline ...

The NGR (Night Garden Railway), has the advantage of being able to accomodate a very generous loading gauge.

There's quite a few trains on the new-style Postman Pat, including one which revolves around a wrong-side signalling failure (caused by a giant magnet suspended from a helicopter, which does seem somewhat questionable as a delivery tactic. Since when were postmen trained to fly helicopters anyway?)

A 'big hug' obviously got out of control.

So far Sarah and Duck don't appear to have gone for any train rides...

I'm pretty sure they have, actually.

Edit: Wikipedia suggests I am thinking of S3E5.

The Bluebell Railway popped up on Foyle's War a couple of times the other week. There were a few authenticity problems happening in the background but it was good to see! :)

“Horizon” the other week had a dramatic reconstruction of Einstein travelling on a train to demonstrate one of his thought experiments: the carriage chosen being 661, the 1880s LBSCR 1st!

Authenticity depends on your viewpoint - it's all relative....

    Yes. Yes, I did.

This episode was on yesterday. Bus breaks down, replacement train service to the Big Shop. Trolley turns up and runs away. Ended up with Moon eating all the fudge.
