A valuable collection of railway memorabilia is due to go on sale on Tuesday in Bristol.

Among the items attracting buyers from around the world are three rare train nameplates last seen on steam trains in the West more than 50 years ago.

A spokesman said they could fetch tens of thousands of pounds.

The man who purchased them bought them in 1961 and paid £11 for all three. They are now expected to make more than £47,000, a spokesman said.

The auction will take place at the Dreweatt Neate auction house in the city from 1030 BST.
