    How do you replace a bridge outside Victoria Station with no affect on existing rail services?

    It would be tackled a little differently today, I think. I suspect that arches would be lifted into place as a single unit by a very large crane, and very unlikely to have been delivered to the preparation site by rail! I also wonder if there are sufficient watermen left to assist in carrying out such work?

    Nearest in modern works would be the recent rebuilding of Blackfriars railway bridge and station, perhaps?
