Can anyone help supply any information about the following preserved GWR wagons? They are all located on the Glos-Warks Railway

    5-plank (?) open wagon 45458 - nothing else known

Dia. T1 chaired sleeper wagon 100717 - build date is supposedly 1896 - is this correct? Is the number/diagram correct, or could it be 100713 ex-Mid Hants?

    Lots for open wagons 22823 (dia. O11) , 77037 (dia. O4), 108712 (dia. O22), 118718 (dia. O29)

Lots for "Macaw B" 84780 and 84974 (both dia. J21)

    Lot for "Loriot W" 100703 (dia. G41)

Many thanks to anyone who can help

the date for a T1 would be about right, however Tourette has 100717 down as a T13 built between 1942 and 1944

    Hi Olly

Thanks for the reply. I have attached the only photo I have for "100717" below, but since it is inside a tunnel it isn't a great shot (before anyone asks, it was taken with permission). Since I'm no expert on T1/T13 wagons, could you advise which type it is?

    thanks

not from that photo. Are the buffers self contained (with the spring in the buffer casing its self) What type of handbrake is fitted, and if the buffers are not self contained does it have eliptical braw bar springs? From the number, my money is still on T13

Thanks Olly - will get back to you if/when I find out the answers to any of your questions. I also have a photo of the number stamped into the solebar, the first five numbers are definitely "10071" and the final digit looks like a "7" and a "3" superimposed! Can anyone confirm that 100713 is still at the Mid-Hants Railway, as this will help decide whether this wagon iS 100713 or 100717?

Out of interest, what were the number ranges for T1, T12 and T13 sleeper wagons?

To answer my own question, the 18t chaired sleeper wagon on the Glos-Warks is 100717, diagram T13. This is thanks to the confirmation that 100713 is still on the Mid-Hants and the confirmation from Bob Wallace off group that 100717 was sold to Queensborough Shipbreakers in 1982, but not cut-up (still exant 1995). It was then sold to the Glos-Warks, moving there in 2005 with B436702, which was also from Queensborough.

Bob has also confirmed the lot for 100703 is 1531.

This leaves the following outstanding if anyone can help?

    1) Lots for open wagons 22823 (dia. O11) , 77037 (dia. O4), 108712 (dia. O22)

    2) Confirmation of whether lot for 118718 (dia. O29) is 1042 or 1043.

    3) Lots for "Macaw B" 84780 and 84974 (both dia. J21)

    4) Lots, diagram and year built for 5-plank (?) open wagon 45458 (may not be 5-plank as planks removed)

    Thanks

    As an aside to this.
We have a GWR MACAW on the NYMR W103310
Purchased as a crane runner from BREL York in the 90s.
Can anyone explain how it made its way to York and what its allocations may have been?
Before anybody says it, I know - By Rail.
