As we've had a fair amount of stock finding a home with us on the Ribble Steam Railway in recent months, I thought I'd start a new thread to which we can add updates as and when they become available.

    The latest is as follows:

5 Railway wagons were delivered to Ribble Steam Railway on Monday 28th June; 3 narrow gauge tubs & 2 16ton minerals, namely B561981 & B564811, all from Florence Mine in Cumberland.

The tubs, once restored, will be displayed in the Museum while the 16
tonners, once restored will become part of the 12 wagon coal train rake.

    Hi

The wagons page on your website:
    http://www.ribblesteam.org.uk/index...ons-roll-call&catid=53:news-archive&Itemid=76
contains an interesting list which I guess you will update soon.

Amongst the Dogfish wagons 531023 and 983261 are shown as from BALFOUR BEATTIE, EX LT. When I look at the corresponding pages on the VCT wagon website the photograph of 983261 shows a vacuum braked wagon and 993201 shows an air braked wagon. Have the VCT swapped the pictures over? If so I suspect that 983261 (and 531023) should be described as HPA rather than ZFV.

    Hi Mr Fowler
Thanks for the update here. The 2 16t Min wagons were also ex BSC Workington. Do you know the gauge of the mine tubs & their original origin? Also I don't suppose you know any update details on the last remaining loco at Florence, a Wingrove & Rogers 4wBE, last noted stored in the Winding House?
    Cheers
    Steve

To be honest, i wasn't paying a huge amount of attention to the narrow gauge tubs - I was otherwise engaged on the railway on Sunday! I'll have a look and post the details tomorrow. Re the loco, it isn't at the RSR but again, I will make enquiries!

I am amazed that there are still 16T steel minerals out there!
