The RLJ is about to embark on an extension. The line currently runs as a Y-shape, from the the main station at Lakvik, the line runs south to a junction with one arm of the Y running to a station on the large Lake Risten, where there is also a run-round loop. The other arm runs into the woods to a halt at Rosenhill. (See map attached).
This latter arm is now to be extended to Pålstorp, and a station plan has been produced and rail assembled. The interesting news posted on the website is that not only will the line eventually be extended to Torpängen, but the longer term plan is to go the village of Bersbo. This would have the advantage of having a terminus in another village - rather than stopping in the middle of nowhere. I'm unsure whether the railway owns the trackbed yet between Torpängen and Bersbo, though.
If there were a possibility to then extend northwards from Lakvik to the large village of Björsäter, that would make an ideal length of line (about 7 miles) and one going from somewhere to somewhere! More information as I get it as I hope to start helping there soon. rljbana5.jpg

A few photos: the first is of the main station at Lakvik; the second is of the lakeside station at Risten. The third is of the halt at Rosenhill.
