Doesn't seem to be a thread for 4965's East Mids circular today, Rood Ashton looked lovely in the sunshine as she passed me at the foot crossing near to water Orton station: http://david1984.fotopic.net/p69017838.html a nice way to start the new year for me with Mainline steam.

4965 a real credit to its owner's/maintainers today, looked absolutely stunning, easily on par with 'City of Truro'!

Dad travelled and had a great day whilst I was lineside at Whitacre,Cossington and Willington. Sounding superb at all 3 locations,a vid to come.

    Great pics everyone.
Yesterday seemed a bit strange knowing the train was out and that I wouldn't be with it.

Super photos everyone. I'm relatively new to this photography business. How do you find out the timings for steam specials such as this one. Thanks

    This tour was great fun. 6 coaches were 1 x buffet, 1 x standard 3 x pullman 1 support

Good atmosphere, on time, good running, sunny.......Travelled en route to the KWVR gala-excellent.

Thanks VT for a really enjoyable trip with 4965. Couples in Pullman looked as if they had enjoyed the day as they alighted--smiles all round

I was a wonderful trip to start the year. A nice 4.5hr ramble (at 60mph!) around the East Midlands. Just the thing to start off the season. And could we have asked for a better day! The steam-heat was soon knocked-off!

Excelent pictures - thanks to al who came out to see us. Dace83 - sorry about your puncture. Sheff, I'm going to send you a diary! lol!

Now we prepare for the next trip. North over Shap and South via S&C.

Let's see how "Lizzie" does on her first trip of the year! Impeccably I am sure!

If only we had more coaches. I wonder if Andy can get "Eagle" ready in 4 weeks - Kidding!

There are a handfull of Standard Steads available, but nothing in First or Dining - they have been sold out for ages!

It's going to be a great trip. The 47 piloting "Lizzie" back from Crewe.....it would be a shame to go the long way around Birmingham when we can go through the centre...hint hint!
