6201 & 70013 I suspect alternating between this and the CME

As I understand, they are this years Crewe pool locos, also covering the North Wales Coast Expresses and the Compass Rail, Mersey Moorlanders.

The RTC advert on the back of the latest Steam Railway, list the loco pool for these trips, NWCE and CME as 6201 & 70013.

Yes the times do look strange, OK so tjhere is an error there, but after being a few minutes slower to Milford, the time starts slipping away compared with last year. 18 minutes Castleford to Wakefield instead of 12 last year and 10 minute stop at Stockport ending up some 37 minutes later back at Crewe against last year.
Whilst the outward journey is only a minute different, the return is now 5 hrs 31mins as against 4 hrs 55mins last year. This is not good..

There must be a stop between Malton and York on the return. 31 mins is allowed going out, but 56 mins coming back. I'd say it's been timed for a 60mph loco this year. Huddersfield times on the return look fairly sensible now, though: 20:05 - 20:08 with Diggle 22 mins later.

Yes, departure time from Scarborough is the same as "The Scarborough Spa Express" which shows a booked water stop at Bootham. Interstingly the "Flyer" takes 5 minutes longer between Seamer and Malton and arrives and leaves York 5 mins later, even though both trains are initially following the same route including south of York.

The Bootham water always seems to come from the Hospital grounds (literally), quite a handy spot to stop really.

Also we are booked on the July 29th trip and hope it will be as enjoyable as last year.

Could anybody tell me a few locations which are good to film the train around Scarborough, but preferably not in a station. Thank you.

I have seen press advertising this week that attaches 60019 to the rostered pool for this train - anyone in the know ???

Also the timings for 2011 have been considerably slowed so that evening shots on the pennine climbs are now impossible and the Crewe to Crewe day out has become 07.11 / 22.26

Just the thing for little Johnny's day out - he'll need Saturday and Sunday to recover

Apparently Tangmere will be working the first trip on 22nd July, as 6201 and 70013 are both unavailable.

I heard it was Lizzie on the Friday and I noticed 70013 is due to move north on Thursday for the CME on Saturday according to UKsteam info. Where is Tangmere at the moment?

I will be out to see whatever is hauling the first of the Flyers at Diggle before my late shift, no fire risk up here either, I'm thinking of building an Ark.... :rain:

I understand that Tangmere will be joining 5305 at Crewe for the beginning of the season.... 70013 and 6201 being unavailable for a couple of weeks...

Tangmere is currently at Yeovil but due to work the Weymouth - London leg of todays Dorset Coast Express. Presumably therefore it will work north to Crewe in the path booked for 70013 on Thursday. Anyone know if Lizzie is broken or if it has been withdrawn from the Crewe pool given its seemingly permanent shed reallocation from Crewe to Tyseley. (6201 website now says it is based at Tyseley not Crewe)

60019 has been "unshaded" on UKsteam info, and now that it is not doing the cathedrals express on 21st, could it be a possibility?
