Does anyone know if this tour is running as planned, eg Penistone, as some other thread states there is a diesel ban somewhere around Barnsley

    Thanks

Well I'm planning to go on this because of the route so I'd also be interested in knowing whether this will run as planned or is just a piece of creative writing.

When I asked RTC at Christmas they hadn't been advised as to any issues.
Not quite the same as having asked WCRC/NR of any issues in the light of those for PF/DBS..........

Although RTC says that the trip is running as advertised (subject to NR timings) UK steam shows the 5's coming on at Manchester - not Preston. So probably people joining this trip at Preston and Wigan may have a wait for steam.

Who says? On face value, that's an expensive option for WCR, if true.

Just an observation as most tours now seem to start with 2 47's

My dad and I are travelling on this and picking up in Wigan. Has anyone got any tips on car parking near the station for a Sunday?

Not been to Wigan for a few years but there was an NCP car park at the side of the station. Try having a look on Google maps.

Just checked Google earth. Car park on the station and one next door. HTH

A virgin multi storey car park [which is the station car park] is located next to the station . Entrance to the car park is via the main station entrance on the northern side of the station straight off the A49. The parking fee is I think £2 for all day on a sunday.
