I inherited this rug from my grandfather, who was an engine driver based at 73F Ashford depot (and who therefore never stepped on the footplate of a GWR "King" in his life!)

It depicts 6000 King Geroge V hauling a rake of GWR coaches. The image suggests the latte 1920s/ early 1930s, as the carriages are GWR side-corridor stock rather than one of the prestigious 1935 "Centenary" sets.

My wife thinks that, from the style, it was made in the 1950s or early 60s. The bottom right of the rug says "E Wilson". There isn't much to go on from the back, which says "Wall Hung" and "Axminster" but is otherwise pretty illegible.

I'm not expecting it to be of any value, but if anyone can provide me with information about my rug, I'd be really grateful. Thank you.
