Thanks for the tip-off Leader - most interesting.

I've just Googled your railway and found what appears to be the official website at http://www.rhts.co.uk/ . I know from first hand experience that railway preservation is a hobby [well, for most of us anyway lol!] etc. but the site doesn't appear to tell us an awful lot. Putting it bluntly, I'm interested but the website only appears to show a list of events, rather than giving any detail. Therefore, I would be most grateful if you could tell us more :)

What are the plans for Steam Railway 50th Anniversary Celebration over the w/e of June 13/4? Similarly the railway operating w/e June 27/8?

I've lived & worked in Peterborough for two & a half years, which isn't a million miles from Rushden, and in that time I've visted the Nene Valley, North Norfolk and the Northampton & Lamport, in addition to spending a couple of enjoyable afternoons last summer with the friendly volunteers at both North Hants Ironstone Trust and the equally friendly crew at the Rutland Railway Museum. However, I've yet to visit either yourselves at Rushden or the Irchester Narrow Gauge Railway Museum and hence I'm keen to learn more.

< I'll return the anorak to the closet now lol ;) >

    Thanks in anticipation :)

    Entering pendant mode.

Unlikely to be the HMRI now it has been abolished and its broad function now carried out by ORR.

What are the plans for the line, expension, development etc, do you have a website or some pictures of the line? Is the line on part of a former line or on a new brown field site ?

    Cheers.

Nice to see this project getting somewhere.

Any plans to head out of the station back towards Wellingborough at any point?

Impressive job on the 31, but looking at the pics, I would suggest being very careful with smoke from the steam engines. There is always some officious NIMBY who will cause you trouble.

when we have got to higham it would be nice to go towards wellingborough but there is a big hole where they took the bridge out at the west end of the station at rushden but if any body has 10 million they dont want we could soon put a bridge in, the track bed is okay for about 3/4 of a mile

And then there's the A45 dual carriage way to cross, and a filled in cutting and bridge to re-instate. Sorry, don't see it happening anytime soon. Good luck with what you've got though.

Sorry, but I was doing a bit of tongue in cheek fishing - I saw something linked to your society once stating an aim of running back into the bay at Wboro. (The bi di slow line is in the way). Enjoy what you've got!

Don't forget, once your track is a mile or more in length, you will then be shown in S K Baker's Rail Atlas! That in turn will lead more people to know of your existance and want to visit you.

As for a spare 10 million? Sir Alex Fergusson has been unable to spend the 80 million he received from Real Madrid this Summer, so offer to let them have the club name on the new bridge if they sponsor it.
