Unless changes have been made to the roster, should be 60007 on the Fellsman subject to usual caveats.

60007 is at Southall. Next working is Saturday 11th May, Euston - Chester. No. 7 has been rostered for three trips from Taunton in the summer though.

Looks like 60007 is rostered for the other 5 Fellsman's this year according to the website.

Helwith this morning. She sounded lovely and the diesel was doing nothing.

My father-in-law used to say he wouldn't pay weather forecasters with holes in brass washers, he was right! Forecast for Blackburn was dull and overcast until lunch time, forecast for Settle was sun and part cloud. Brownhills out of Blackburn and the sun came out full bore just as it left Blackburn. Drove to Newsholme for the shot after Chatburn water stop, full dull and misty. Both 180 degrees out! P1170645.JPG P1170646.JPG

Today's Fellsman is pictured with the return working at Scotby, 1st May 2024, a memorable date as this was the S&C's 148th birthday. The recent tree felling has opened up a view of the former station building which is identified by the white coloured bargeboards seen in the distance. This was one of the early casualties on the line, closing in 1942, and like others that closed, it is now a private residence.

Thanks, Every leaf-fall season I remember your explanation of why the rails become slippy, I always prefer facts to assumptions. Regards, David

I believe yesterday's tour was the first one to use a full rake of Mk1s. Not a Mk2 to be seen.

Have they not just removed the Mk2, which they did at least once before?
Previous tours have had 10 Mk1'a and a Mk2 as quoted in post #182 for example.

A few have run as a full mk1 rake. Off the top of my head:
    08/12/23: Southend to Winchester
    06/04/24: Kings Cross to Newcastle

Many thanks, very kind - “ . . . I’d like to say a special thank you to Mrs W who is suffering at the moment as her team struggles to avoid relegation and of course to Diego who enriches my life every time he digs his claws into my knee.”
