Just an update on a couple of good news stories at Shillingstone:

The bid for £10,000 from the National Lottery has been successful, so what with other match-funding raised the team are off shopping for a buffet car which will allow them to better provide catering and allow the Station itself to be further developed.

Also, Shillingstone has agreed the purchase of over half a mile of track and several points which will see it complete the trackwork for its current site.

There's a few more things in the pipeline but (as with the above) I don't want to emntion them until they're in the bag.
As I've said before, things have turned a corner at Shillingstone and it's now all going in the right direction.

About a half mile of trackbed; basically the full extent of the Station site but little more. There is plenty of scope for expansion, in excess of 5 miles, but this on land that would have to be purchased, planning permission sought etc.

Gosh! Just seen there's quite an extensive article in the latest edition of Heritage Railway. Happy with that!

No I do not currently volunteer
... and it talks about 92207's overhaul and that it will be hired out to other railways when it's finished.
