We are very pleased to announce that Battle of Britain locomotive No. 34053 has arrived at Bridgnorth for an extended visit. The locomotive, which has not operated on a heritage railway before coming to the SVR, will remain at Bridgnorth for the present time whilst final fitting and checks take place. There will also be a period of 'running in' before Sir Keith enters regular service. Initially the locomotive will be in the Locomotive Works at Bridgnorth where we regret there is NO public access. When No. 34053 is rostered to operate, a further announcement will be made here and details of the trains it will be working will be included in our weekly summary which is updated every Friday. Our thanks go to Southern Locomotives Ltd for the loan of 'Sir Keith Park'. Further information about the locomotive can be found here. Photograph by Duncan Ballard.
