    The 2015 Literary Award goes to Colin Mountford for his seminal work Rope and Chain Haulage – The forgotten element of railway history. The award was presented to Colin by our president Dr Michael Bailey at the Newcastle Centre meeting on 10 April. If you have yet not seen this book (published by the Industrial Railway Society) if is a truly outstanding piece of research work and fully justifies the award.
