A NEWHEY man claims lives were put at risk when a train he was on caught fire.

Council worker Glen Cosgrove, of Huddersfield Road, had been visiting friends in Blackpool last weekend when the incident occurred.

The 24-year-old said he had gone to Blackpool North station to return home when he noticed smoke pouring out from under one of the carriages of the Buxton-bound diesel train.
