Snibston 15+16 May

I see that Bagnall No.2648 is visiting Snibston for their transport weekend: http://www.leics.gov.uk/pressrelease.htm?id=189828

I am hoping to visit the railway for this event, as its one I have not been to before.

Having been reading up a little on the history of the loco I'm just wondering if anyone (from Chasewater maybe?) knows what is the basis of the livery that 'Linda' wears. Is it based on something particular or just a nice paint job (no problems with that!)?

 

I've just emailed Snibston regarding possible photo charters. If anyone would be interested in attending such an event, could they PM me please? At the moment, I don't have ANY details, as I've literally asked about the possibility of running it, so I can't quote you a price/date/etc. However, I'd like to get a rough ideas of numbers. No commitment etc, just after a rough gauge of interest. Thanks

 

It's a busy weekend in the East Midlands; the GCR have a goods event on, GCR(N) and the Battlefield Line both have diesel galas on as well. Could be worth visiting Sniston and one of the others.

 

As an update, I'm informed that Russ Hillier is already organising a charter, therefore I won't bother myself - no point competing, especially when his would no doubt be the better one!
