Some new never seen before assorted LMS Loco photos

    Hi All

    Some new photos from the David Taylor collection, the first photo has an interesting background
    41971/41972/4197341974 Whitelegg 3P Tilbury Tanks stored at Carlisle 16-6-53
    Four locos of this class were involved in a very unusual inter-regional transfer under the new BR regime. The locos involved were 41971 and 41974 which moved from Shoeburyness and Plaistow sheds respectively, to Dundee West shed during January 1948. They joined sister engines 41972 and 41973 that had arrived on the very eve of Nationalisation. They were generally disliked by their Scottish crews and Dundee rid itself of 41971 to Stirling shed during the week ending 20th March. After being renumbered, all four moved south during June 1948, officially to Skipton. However, they got no further than Carlisle Durran Hill shed, where they languished in store until withdrawal in 1955
