    Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th September

I'm coming to this one and I know that the engines rostered are all homefleet steam engines, Class 25 diesel D7612 and 2 guest steam locos numbers 4247 (from Bodmin) and 4566 (from the Severn Valley).

Any more details and will there be a real ale festival this year (for the old man)?

Should have more details and timetable by the end of this week (hopefully) - been busy with the Rails and Ales event this weekend !!!

The basic plan as it stands is to keep the BR loco's with the carmine and cream set, and the GWR ones with the chocolate and cream set. There should also be two seperate goods trains, the first a seven wagon engineers, and the second a short GWR Milk train with Toad.

There will not be a real ale festival, but the chocolate and cream set should feature an on-train bar serving a range of bottled ales.

1369, 4566 and 3803 will be smokebox to Ashburton, 5526, 5786 and 4247 should be smokebox to Totnes. With six steam loco's, the diesel turns will be quite limited and will be in the care of Sulzer Type 2 D7612.

The WTT's have just been sent to the various web sites so should appear very soon. Sorry for the delay I had to wait until a few odd details were firmed up before being able to complete the diagrams etc.

Should be a good event all round with plenty to see and do. 4247 should arrive on Wednesday and is booked to also run, alongside 3803, this Friday - couldn't resist a "heavy freight day".

During the gala efforts have again been made to ensure loco's match stock as much as possible. One of the best trains will be the two coach Great Western branch passenger and this will be worked by both 1369 and visiting 4566.

Not long to go now, and the details are on one of the official websites now: http://www.southdevonrailway.org/News-and-Press-Releases/2009_Transport_Gala.html

Looks like it's going to be a very good gala, the timetable has been nicely planned out. Lots of goods trains as well which will increase the interest factor. It will be nice to have a 2-8-0T on the line as well!

Also don't forget Friday! It's a "heavy freight" day with the 38 and 42 running!
