Gen groups are reporting that 44871 has derailed at Nappers Crossing circa 18.00 Sunday 4/4, while working a train towards Totnes. No other details as yet. I hope it is not too serious.

Edit: Further posts report leading tender axle off the road. 70013 is hauling the train back to Buckfastleigh.

    oh heck

whilst undoubtedly a coup for the SDR perhaps in hindsight and especially given the engines involment in such a large part of the GB3 tour covering most of the Plymouth - Glasgow - Stranraer sections their usage should perhaps have been restricted

43106 had a low speed derailment at the sVR and ended up needing two new tender axles . I'm sure this isn't the case but it goes to show the potential for costly damage
