This annual event is coming up next weekend. I'm a bit puzzled by the working timetables (which SDR very generously show in advance for free) on the website. Looking at the events page and going to the WTT shown, you get a different one from the one shown if you go to the enthusiasts page. Which is right?

Either way, this is worth a visit.

Just checked the Association web site and the working timetable shown here is correct. Plenty going on with everything that works being used to haul trains over the weekend.

Steam: 3205 and L92 will work full line services, whilst 5542 (its last weekend with us prior to departing by road to the WSR on Monday) will be working auto trains on both days. Diesel loco's D6501 (in its new green livery) D7612 and D6975 will work one round trip on passenger. D6501 (Sat) and D7612 (Sun) also make an outing on the milk train. Shunters D2246 and D3721 also get a rare outing on passenger services, and W55000 also makes a couple of trips.

In addition to the varied timetable there is the chance to see behind the scenes with access being possible to many areas not normally open to the public. There will be a display of vintage road vehicles at Buckfastleigh and at Staverton the PW plant will be on display in the yard at Staverton. A Wickham trolley will also be providing demo runs in the yard area (and works from Buckfastleigh Sat morning and back again on Sunday evening). The vintage bus will operate to Ashburton where there will be guided walks along the remaining stub of the branch to the station.

Normal fares apply so great value too.
