Late Maunsell period livery with both the word 'SOUTHERN' and the loco number on the tender had a brass plate on the cab side of the loco itself. It is believed that currently there is a Class U 2-6-0 on the Bluebell running with this livery. What is wanted are the dimensions of this plate (and ideally a photo as well) to enable one to be made for a 5" gauge loco. Can anyone help?

Not my photo, but this is probably what you want:

A Google image search should find other pictures - 847 also has that livery.

As for dimensions - I don't know, probably about 12" across but I haven't ever measured to be honest!

Incidentally, before about 1928, the inside should be black, not red.
