From the Spa Valley website : - "We're pleased to say that ex-LMS Fowler "4F" no 44422 has been confirmed as the star of our Autumn steam gala on 27/28 October".

Great news, I'll certainly be attending. I wonder if the SpVR will run a similar timetable to the Westerham Gala last year? It was certainly ingenious and kept things exciting!

Early plans are to deploy a similar timetable to that used at this weekend's Thumper Gala. Two trains between Eridge and Tun Wells West.

Also please note the final weekend of the season is billed as a 'Fowler Weekend'. All our trains will be hauled by either the Jinty or the 4F.

The 4F is the largest steam loco to ever visit the SVR in preservation so please do come along and support this event to ensure we can do similar things in the future.

I used to live only about 15 miles away, but it's now a round trip of over 300 miles - still, 44422 is rather tempting. Thanks for flagging this up, Paul. Perhaps we might finally have some sunshine by the end of October!
