Spa Valley Railway Landslip Update

LANDSLIP UPDATE
Despite the important business of running trains every weekend and real-world employment eating into our time, we've still been slowly plugging away at the landslip repairs on Ramslye embankment.
The Biblical drought of 2011 dried the embankment right out, and then the Biblical deluges of 2012 rehydrated it like a dried up sponge in a bucket of water. Result: bye-bye embankment.
We're nothing if not resourceful, and an emergency realignment of the track and re-commisioning of a redundant bridge span quickly allowed us to deliver a workable short-term solution while we sussed out what we needed to repair the embankment. The inevitable answer was wads of cash, and through a variety of fundraising initiatives, we have now raised a third of our £30,000 target.
The reason this eye-popping sum isn't higher is because we are doing all the repairs ourselves!
However, we still need £21,000 to finish the job, and the work will take at least all of this year to complete. This currently aspirational sum is needed for an auger attachment for our excavator, allowing it to perform piling operations to reinforce the banksides, further construction materials, rail lubricators, track tamping tools (currently we have a few pickaxes, which are quite hard work, and difficult to achieve a proper finish with), plus a secondhand telehandler to deal with the vital tasks (like coaling engines, moving stuff round the yard in the endless game of Rubik's Railway, etc) left unattended by the 360 excavator being tied up on piling work.
The Railway has set up an appeal fund to help raise the money required. In addition to accepting donations, it has organised several fundraising events including a Pump Trolley Marathon, a quiz night and several extra Fish and Chip Lunch or Supper trains.
Any donations or offers of assistance would be gratefully received, and will help to ensure the railway is restored to its former alignment as early as possible. Please ensure any donations are clearly marked "Landslide appeal fund". Please remember that UK tax payers can further increase the value of their donation by also giving us their name and address so we are able to claim gift aid from the government.
