Yesterday, we visited Eastleigh Miniature Railway. Anyway, as we were leaving (about 4:30) a Spitfire came over quite low, heading towards Southampton. I only caught a fairly fleeting glimpse, but I'm fairly sure it was blue or silver (not camouflage) and had fully elliptical wings (not clipped).

Anyone here have idea which it was, and what it was doing?

    Thanks, on the off chance...

Tom (just back from a rained-off Shuttleworth Mid Summer Air Show... grrr...)

There is a silver painted Mk.IX with the BBMF and two blue painted Mk.XIXs with them as well. Rolls Royce also has a blue painted Mk.XIX. There is a blue painted Mk.XI just to add to the confusion.

Thanks Spamcan81. I'd wondered about the BBMF, but according to the website, they weren't due to be in the area on Saturday. May just remain a mystery.

    Thanks
