    I have added a couple of photos of Stanier 8F’s used by the War Department
    Now back at Crewe but still with there W.D. numbers, and smokebox held together with old rope

    I'm not sure if I can make out 'Severn Valley' on the poster, and thought perhaps it one of the Manchester Rail Travel Society/Severn Valley Railway Society tours? Jeff Ryan of the 8F Society advises:

    "I was fairly sure the location was Rose Grove, but this has now been confirmed.
    The date was 28 July 1968 and full details of the railtour are on the sixbells junction.co.uk website. 48773 worked the train from Rose Grove to Stockport. Looks as though photos were taken around 6.15 pm that evening"
