City of Truro has now arrived and undergone a successful test run..........and the scene is now set for the most intensive timetable ever run on the B&W, with no less than 19 departures from Bodmin General tomorrow alone!

Spent a very enjoyable afternoon at Bodmin.
My what a difference the signalling has made.
The station was a hive of activity.
Ok they overdid the timetable and were running late,
but as one of the staff said, they tried, it was a bit ambitious,
they've learned from it and will run one less train next time.
Fully intended going to a couple of other locations,
but there was so much going on at the station the afternoon just disapearred.
didn't evn get round to a trip on a train.
Sorry B&W, will make sure I do next time.

Off to free up some space on the camcorder,
just in case the ACE does get to Plymouth tomorrow???

Great weekend as usual, most friendly bunch here. Saturday was a hive of activity at Bodmin General, it got a bit complicated (but very entertaining) during the various shunting movements, especially when they got the "creme tea" special set out of the yard. 3717 slipped all the way up the hill with just the 2 on, the drizzle was fairly heavy by this stage. Times slipped at one point to about 25 mins down but recovered to about 10 mins by the end of the day. Two train operation made for a very interesting day, especially the 6435 autotrain to Boscarne.
Pity about the failure of 3717 on the Sunday, this was made up for by an earlier than advertised appearance of the magnificent 30120 instead.
Thanks for all at the railway who made it a great event to attend, even if the cafe had to shut mid-afternoon Saturday because it was swamped with orders, something to do with a large amount of railfans off a railtour from London! We'll see you again next year.

What an event! It was the most successful Steam Gala yet in the 25-year history of the BWR. Many thanks to all of you who supported the event.
