    Hi,
My wife saw a steam engine in Blackpool North station yesterday evening at the head of some coaches with a diesel on the rear. I am not aware of any railtour running to Blackpool yesterday. Was there at 18:45 but had gone when she passed again after 20:00. She said it was dark green or maybe black. Anyone know what it was?
    Regards,
    John.

No steam charter in Blackpool yesterday that I'm aware of, but there was a diesel charter with Class 67's. UK Railtours "Coast to Coast" tour, from London Euston to Cleethorpes & Blackpool North, and return. Maybe it was this that she saw. Wouldn't explain the dark green loco, though, as both 67's were in EWS colours!

Err no....and im not showing here the picture of a tram either! lol
She did say coaches looked the same as VSON we went on a few years ago, so was most likely the diesel tour that Rich-D3167 informed us about. Doesn't explain the steam loco though dark green or black?
    Cheers,
    John.

I seem to remember either a green or blue coach in the formation when I saw the tour. Perhaps it was this that she saw and mistook it for a loco. Pretty strange thing to mix up, I guess, but it has been known. Definitely won't be the loco's, as both were EWS livery!
