Steam on Ipswich-Brisbane line

    This is a clipping from a local paper, as you see Queensland rail are training Electric/Diesel Drivers to train up a Engine Driver on the steam.

    The project has been so successful they are extending it to other months next one is May. Imagine sitting on the platform waiting for a train and in rolls a steamer with no restrictions, stopping all stations for around 50 miles via the capital of Brisbane and back all you have to have is your normal ticket. "

    Steve, Isn't it amazing what is achieved on a 'complete' Railway [Believe State of Queensland still owns all track, locos and rolling stock whereas other states have gone the privatised route]!

    Just like happens on the Wolsztyn to Poznan line, except of course over there the mad English amateur drivers are at the controls...:madgrin:
