Nice one, Steam from York to Carlisle with rear gunner following 60009 U. of S. A. a couple of minutes later from the look of it.

Except the diesel is heading north out of York and 60009 is heading south...

Still pleased to see the separate path.
From UK Railtours, when I enquired, had not looked closely at the box's path.

    Looks good news on 60009 U. of S. A!

Any recommendations for a good real ale pub near Carlisle Station please? (Griffin??). We only have an hour.

Never been in (as I’m too young) but there’s 301 Miles on the station

Coach A! sincerely hope that's the A4 end of the consist! lucky man if it is! music from York to Carlisle and no buzzing for the rest!

Kings Cross for us coach D 4, tight connection from St Panc, so PBR if we miss the charter. Birthday treat for 'erself, I'm just going along to keep her company;);)

We intend bailing at PBR on the return and getting the service train which overtakes the charter, gets us home an hour earlier after a long day.

No danger of lineside fires from the forecast!

Just seen a video that shows it has 13 carriages. Anyone know who the crews are?

A moody looking Pen-y-Ghent stands out as the 'Union of South Africa' works the 'Steam on the Settle & Carlisle' rail tour northbound through Selside

At the north end of Bleamoor Tunnel - luckily a brief moment when it wasn't chucking it down with rain or hail stoning with a vengeance!
And fairly certain i saw JC on the footplate - its his elbow you can see!
