    The LMSCA's beautifully restored Porthole Brake with disabled access No. 27001 has been nominated for this year's Steam Railway Awards. It's the only coach nominated so if you're a C&W enthusiast deserves your vote!

    Wow, that’s lovely. I remember this coach stored on the GCR in the late 80s looking pretty sorry for itself though I never went inside it; was it an empty shell or did you have some interior fittings to start with? Regardless, a remarkable transformation and proof that some of those “linear scrapyards” people moan about actually aren’t.
