In this month’s edition of Steam Railway, we mark the achievement of an important milestone: the restoration of the 150th ex-Barry locomotive – ‘Modified Hall’ No. 6989 Wightwick Hall.

Midland 4F Preservation Society member John Atherton details the Fowler 0-6-0’s epic journey from South Wales to Haworth, when it became the first steam locomotive to be rescued from the scrapyard, and the first to return to steam.
