I have just been speaking to Simon Greenwoods wife, Simon being the brilliant painter who has just done my Scot, she tells me that he is now starting on a pair of Terriers, Boxhill and Stepney, I wonder. :-k

If they are the ones in that link, which will be the one with Isle of Wight bunker, only neither engine is fitted with one (and I'm pretty sure never went to the Island)?

The pictures show an A1X with mainland bunker (with the toolbox behind it) and the A1 type with Isle of Wight bunker. The problem is that if this is indeed supposed to be Boxhill as the A1 design of the two, it doesn't have an Isle of Wight bunker. W8 (and I believe W11), 662 and 32678 (extended version) have the IoW bunker style, but are in classic A1 form.

Doubtless someone else can confirm but I don't believe any engines were sent to the Isle of Wight (and thus fitted with the extended bunkers due to longer runs) before being rebuilt into A1X style?

Don't get me wrong, their nice enough models, but I'm not sure the proposed identities are entirely accurate at least.

The sample was hauling 4 carriages on Dapol stand today, so can actually haul more than a real one...
