The following items were stolen from the 12t van at Weston Wharf, Oswestry, probably on the night of Friday 27th April.

    3 x 5 leaf wagon springs
    6 x 9" x 4" wagon bearings
1 x LNWR signal box lever
    4 x LNWR station brackets.

The thieves climbed into the van through the roof, and threw the items over the side, damaging a compressor next to the van. Given the specific nature of the items taken (and the piles of metal on the ground next to the van) this appears to have a targeted theft by someone with a shopping list - climbing 12' up into the van, 8' down into it then lifting springs up and out, when there are piles of metal on the ground.......

This theft comes after the theft of window fromes from Mk1 RBr in Oswestry. The frames were drilled out and carefuly removed.

If anyone has any info please ring West Mercia Police on 101, or crimestoppers. Incident no is 84N290412

The theft was only discovered when I went to collect some instsanter couuplings for the Middleton Railway, and the lever for the N&LR to replace their stolen items!

    Thanks

    Richard
