Strathspey railway diesel running days 13th, 20th & 27th June.

The Strathspey railway will be running three diesel operated days to the normal public timetable on Mondays 13th, 20th and 27th June. Planned motive power will be, Mon 13th 31327, Mon 20th 27050, Mon 27th 37674

 

Aargh! We were up there end of last month and couldn't travel as Railway wasn't running Mon to Weds when we were about!

Hope this is a successful venture.

 

They are primarily driver training runs, converting steam drivers to diesel to ensure better availability as the railway is very short of crews. They have been opened to the public to try to recover some of the operating costs. It will be repeated on the first three Mondays in September.

 

Just found out yesterday that there is a change to the loco on Monday 27th June, it will now be 27050 instead of 37674.
27050 will now be working the 20th and 27th June.
