A special event information sheet and timetable are downloadable from the main Severn Valley website, but here is a flavour of what is happening:

-Intensive service, ten departures each day from both Kidderminster and Bridgnorth, ( twenty trains) all steam-hauled (subject to usual caveats) starting with the 10-00 from Kidderminster, and 11-15 from Bridgnorth.
-Society stands on the Kidderminster concourse, and signal box visits. Book signing on Sunday morning. Museum and miniature railway.
-Bewdley yard open for viewing the work and projects there. Bewdley North signalbox open for visits. Volunteer Liason Office open Saturday.
-1400 departure from Bridgnorth on the Sunday will pause at the former Eardington station as happened 40 years to the day.
-Bridgnorth shed/works open, Bridgnorth signalbox open for visits, frames of 82045 available for viewing with 82045 sales/membership stand. "Catch-me-who can" in steam, wheeldrop progress to see.
-Highley: Engine House open, with John Stretton book signing Sunday afternoon.
-Usual catering/hostelry available most places !

Not an exhaustive list, and visits to working areas as available consistent with operational requirements.

Should be a good weekend. See you there.

The first day of this Anniversary weekend was very busy, packed trains running to time. The Severn Valley looked at its best, with the wooded sections of lineside displaying a profusion of bluebells and wild garlic flowers. Most impressive was the sheer scale of the new wheel drop at Bridgnorth, the hole it sits in and above is substantial. Engineers were working with detailed plans and a kit of parts, steadily fixing the machinery in place.
