Intending to make a trip up for what appears to be the last day of full-line services until the branch line gala in March. I'm trying to get my head round what should be quite a straightforward timetable, and hoping someone here can help?! The svr forum gives the loco diagrams as follows:

    Bridgnorth

    FN1: 46443 + 8 coaches
43106 LE to KR to work FS3

    Bewdley

    FS1: 6695 + 8 coaches
    FS2: 5164 + 6 coaches
    FS2: 43106 + 9 coaches

And the departures from each end of the line are:

    Kidderminster dep 10.25 10.50 12.15 1.35 2.55 4.45

    Bridgnorth dep 10.13 12.03 1.30 2.50 4.10 4.45

There is also a Kidd-Highley shuttle that departs Kidderminster at 12.45 and departs Highley on the return at 2.40

I assume it goes as 6695 on 10.25 ex Kidd, 5164 on 10.50 ex Kidd, 43106 on 12.15 ex Kidd, and 46443 on 10.13 ex Brid. Figuring out what locos haul the other departures isn't proving as straightforward as it really should be!

    TIA

I'm planning on visiting tomorrow and am utterly confused by that whole diagram. What do the FS and FN denote?

    I imagine S means South (Kidderminster) and N North (Bridgnorth). My reading would be that 43106 works the 12.45 Kidderminster to Highley & return, with 6695 on 10.25 & 1.35 ex-K, 12.03 & 4.10 ex-BN, 5164 on 10.50 & 2.55 ex-K. 1.30 & 4.45 ex-BN, and 46443 on 12.15 & 4.45 ex-K, 10.13 & 2.50 ex-BN.

    Sunday 3rd Jan 2010:

FN1: 46443 + 8 coaches = 1st (and only set off Bridgnorth ie 1st departure of the day)

    FS1: 6695 + 8 coaches
    FS2: 5164 + 6 coaches
    FS3: 43106 + 9 coaches

1st,2nd and 3rd sets of Kidderminster.
    Hope that helps!

I think Mighty Mogul has got it about right. From the 6695 thread it says it has failed, and according to Rick Eborall on SVRA forum it's due to superheater problems, so 42968 was out in its place.

My thinking for the diagrams is below.

    From Kiddy

    10.25 42968
    10.50 5164
    12.15 43106 (Diner)
    12.45 46443 (Highley)
    13.35 42968
    14.55 5164
    16.55 46443

    From Bridgnorth

    10.13 46443
    12.03 42968
    13.30 5164
    14.40 46443 (Highley)
    14.50 43106 (Diner)
    16.10 42968
    16.45 5164

    Could be utter rubbish though!

43106 is on the 12.15 service - The Severn Valley Limited. IIRC 46443 will work the first Bridgnorth departure and then the Highley short working and then the last (or second to last? - Cant remember!) Kidderminster departure.

4566 took 6695's place today and the the right hand centre driving wheel spring broke. The 1330 Ex Bridgnorth was significantly delayed and departed over 30 mins late. When it did depart 4566 really struggled out of P2 and it took about 15 mins to get away from the station at a very slow crawl after stalling on the first attempt and having had to set back a liitle. Very slow run to Hampton Loade and reduced speed through to Kidderminster but 4566 made it! Well done to the crew by the way who handled the situation perfectly and handled the wounded engine like true experts. When we arrived back at Kidderminster it was 1520. The set then formed the delayed 1455 ex Kidderminster service and D8188 was summoned to haul the train. This train departed around 1545.

4566 was due to remain at Bewdley during January and February while the line is closed North of Highley. I guess it depends if the sping can be changed at Bewdley, or whether 4566 needs to go to Bridgnorth for the winter.
Otherwise, the engines due to remain at Bewdley to work the winter services between Kidderminster and Highley are: 4566, 42968, 43106, and 46443, plus 7812 if boiler work has been completed.

Springs can be changed at Bewdley, dependent on how much solid wood we have in the wood pile to jack the engine up on!

Didn't the guys from Bridgnorth "pop" down to Bewdley to do jobs like that on the locos working Kiddy - Bewdley following the floods?

Cut up some sleepers, Tom :) We don't want to lose 4566 off Bewdley
