4472 (60103) Flying Scotsman has been confirmed on the Severn Valley Railway website for their Autumn Steam Gala 2016

Right that's it, I've changed my mind now! Seriously it would be good to see you again if you could make it.

Be interesting see what the home fleet will look like in 12 months time. Record high for a number of years if I'm right -:

    813 1501 2857 4566 7714 7802 7812 43106 34027 34053

4566 last ASG, or am I 12x months too early?
Is Dunrobin allowed to stay for a while should she be finished next year?

If so I wonder how many guests SVR will bother with, especially given that 60103 should draw in the numbers herself anyway. I'd hope for at least one more guest, something else LNER and rarely seen out and about coupled with that line up and they really would need to work hard on the timetable to ensure capacity!

Love to see a Modified Hall, but just to see 813 back will be good. ASG 2008 DH with 5526, sat at Bewdley listening to her pull away from Northwood LX and hearing her chuff towards us before flying through non stop. Absolute magic!

With a lot of smaller engines surely locals have to be back on the agenda?

Defiantly will not be going now this is confirmed, the flying Scotsman is the biggest waste of money in steam preservation

What an odd reason not to visit a steam railway! I suppose I could sort of understand if you objected to the livery, but just because it cost a lot to overhaul? Are your requirements for a steam gala then that all locos should have been restored as cheaply as possible?

LNER and rarely seen out-985/68088 is the only operational one that fits the criteria and operational.

Given that 4472 (or whatever they call it when it's in the wrong livery) will bring in the crowds on its own, I doubt the SVR management are going to be losing sleep.

I think 4566 due out the end of 2016. Those should be the locos in service all being willing.
    Ratbag I would hope.

That would definitely be great, a proper GW liveried tender loco on proper GW carriages, lovely!

Struggling to see a theme emerge from those though... :/

Plenty of time to decide to be fair. The railway could also go with one more big guest like say no. 9.

...good job platform 1 is being extended at bridgo!
Must have the potential to be one of the highest attendance galas we've ever run already. Add No 9 or the B12 to that and it's a great LNER line up.

Hmm, I suppose it is still 8 months away but I wonder if the preview day could be upgraded to a full day to cope with numbers.
