SVR Peep Behind the Scenes 3/4 September

Very popular in 2010, Peep Behind the Scenes is back in 2011 with lots of opportunities to see at first hand the dedicated work that goes into the restoration of our fleet of locomotives and carriages.

Talk to our backroom boys who will be only too pleased to share their enthusiasm for railway restoration and operation with you.

Timetable C will operate on both days.

Normal fares, but with an additional charge for wristbands which allow admission to some of our workshop and other facilities not normally open to the public. Our 'Summer Saver' fare is also valid for this event.

There will be guided tours of our workshops at Kidderminster, Bewdley and Bridgnorth and a shuttle train service between Kidderminster station and the carriage storage shed.

Our staff will be on hand to explain the work in progress and maybe, when you see the work that is done, you may wish to come and give a hand!

Normal fares apply. In addition, a wristband will be required for admission to our workshops and 'behind the scenes' facilities. These wristbands may be purchased on the day of your visit. [adult £5, child/senior £3]

Organised for the SVR by the 4150 Locomotive Group http://www.4150.org.uk/ - a major fund raising event for the group. Last year not only did we boost the profile of our engine but the money raised paid for the materials to rebuild the bunker. This year we hope to raise sufficient funds to pay for the materials for both tanks. The bunker is now at a very advanced stage and a cutting list for the tanks should be available before the end of the year.
