the SVR forum suggests that 45407 & 44871 will be in attendance (presumably linked in to railtour duties) and there is also a suggestion a Hymek and class 14may also visit

Thats one date in the diary for next year then!

The thought of a class 14 blasting its way up through Foley Park Tunnel certainly appeals...

    Cheers,

    Phil.

With the attendance of the 5's being confirmed by the beano's. I believe the Hymek and 14 are only rumours as of yet, being transpired by only word of mouth.
feel free to prove me wrong though...

LMS flavour for the weekend, visiting steam locomotives confirmed include LMS Class 5s No. 44871 and No. 45407. Other steam locomotives will be drawn from the ex LMS home fleet. Heritage diesels will be represented by Class 50 locomotive No. D444 ’Exeter’ (subject to availability) in its brand new 1960s livery. Additionally from the home fleet we will be operating a Class 20 together with Class 42 ‘Warship’ D821 ‘Greyhound’ and Class 52 ‘Western’ D1062 ‘Western Courier. Additionally there is also timetabled steam and diesel double heading.

Tickets booked for the Sunday. Will a WTT be made available beforehand for purchase?

So locos are the 2x Fives with 1or2 from 43106, 42968 and 46443 plus D444, D821, D1062 and a 20. Sounds good to me (even better with a Hymek though!).

Hi sorry for the delay - no WTT being sold before hand. The timetable downloadable from the SVR website does indicate what motive power though is on what service

Thanks. Will there be anything on the day giving specific diagrams? Not been to one of your 60s events before so don't know what it will be like.

No nothing available specifically on the day giving diagrams that I am aware of - if I hear otherwise I will let you know. As to what to expect. Live music on each of the three nights from The Upbeat Beatles, The Whoo and The Kinx, plenty of cars from the era (over the Saturday and Sunday), a market at Bewdley selling Vintage Clothing and retro inspired products, toy memories, a scalextrix set (you can have a go on with donations to Acorns Childrens Hospice) and Model Railways at The Engine House, Pinball machine/s, jukebox/es and a Milk Bar at Kidderminster station. Again the details should be on the website at the moment on the downloadable pdf information sheet. Hope that this gives a little flavour of what is happening ! This is is certainly all as it is planned currently!

Whilst bearing in mind it's an event really aimed at Jo Public more than enthusiasts, can anyone confirm whether it's intended to use all of the advertised diesels on each day, or a selection from the list? Thanks.

Just for referrance, UKSteam reports that 44871 and 45407 will arrive at Kiddy on Monday 16th May and depart on Monday 23rd.
Should be nice having some black 5 action on the Valley, been a few years now.[IMG]

Inconjunction with the evening concert there will also be an evening train from Bridgnorth (6.40pm) all stations, timed to get to Kidderminster for the concerts on the Friday and Saturday (steam one night / diesel the the other), with the return journey off Kidderminster at approx 11pm. Should be good for anyone wanting to do the concert/s but stop at Bewdley, Bridgnorth etc....
Tickets for this service are £6pp and must be used with concert tickets.
Concert tickets are available on-line now - booking in advance being cheaper than prices on the night. Evening travel tickets are also available on-line (no further discount off the £6)
Day travel tickets are also available on-line and at reduced rate compared to buying on the day.

Looking forward to this event. Will there be a loco roster made available at any time in relation to this event ?

A specific loco roster won't be issued prior to the event. The timetable / information sheet does indicate whether a specific service is diesel or steam hauled, whilst for those interested there is also steam and diesel double header in there, with the DMU mostly offering a shuttle service between Kidderminster and Bewdley.

Good way not to attract diesel enthusiasts then, the 50 lot will just love a 42/52 and vice versa-not.....
May as well stay away until 4 June when 821s working are advertised.

thanks for the feedback. The subject has already been broached on loco rosters, but can confirm in reference to previous comments in the thread that all diesel loco's should be in use on all 3 days for what it is worth.

There will be loads of different things / exhibitions happening that may / may not entice you to change your mind, I suppose it depends on what you specifically want out of the day. We hope / have aimed hopefully for a cross section of activities, loco's etc that will offer everyone a good all round day out....

Unless you specify in advance which diesel locos are on which train you will not entice myself or many other diesel enthusiasts.
My only interest would be as many hydraulic miles as possible in the day(and expecting the usual crossing of 1062/821 at Arley to minimise that)

There are competing events much nearer home such as KWVR diesel gala where rosters will be available in advance.

Passing that way anyway on our way to Yorkshire for holiday, and Beatles tribute band on Friday night clinches it for my wife as a good stop-over on a long drive. D821 on the front of our evening train would really be icing on the cake! Hoping to get there a bit early and maybe see a 20 in action?

I'm not sure the event is really aimed at diesel enthusiasts. Why not wait for the diesel gala in October?

Put a roster out for both, many would attend both(and a handful of running days inbetween).
Still if SVR is now so cash rich it is happy to turn paying passengers away.....must remember the next time it rains and the begging buckets appear.
