Swanage Railway - 3CIG operations - 7/8/9 and 11 June 2011

    With the kind cooperation of the Epping & Ongar Railway their 3CIG will be coupled to 33 103 "Swordfish" and used instead of the booked DMU services on the above dates.
    These will be the first normal scheduled push-pull operations on the Swanage Branch since 1971 [omitting the special timetables during Swanage Railway Diesel Galas of course].

    11 June: Special Timetable will be prepared allowing for the arrival/departure of "The Purbeck Ranger" railtour from Nottingham.

    EXTRA DATES ADDED
    Due to the current high passenger numbers on the Swanage Railway it has been decided to run the 3 CIG and 33103, in push-pull mode, from tomorrow (1st June) until at least Friday (3rd June).
    Whether this continues over the weekend too has yet to be decided.

    far more prototypical than a class 108...not quite a 4TC but close enough to bring back memories.

    FURTHER DATES ADDED
    33 103+3CIG will be in service during weekend 25th & 26th June.
    The 25th June has a special timetable with the arrival of Hastings Diesels' "The Dorset Diadem" railtour in Swanage at 1322 and departure at 1600. BR (S) 60's heaven!

    Late Notice
    33 111 + 3CIG outings on 1st - 4th Sept [vice 108 DMU which is not able to cope with current passenger numbers]. See the "D" times on the Green Timetable: http://swanagerailway.co.uk/11broch/greentt.pdf
    Believe the 3CIG will also be out during 17/18 Sept with either 33 103 or 33 111.
    Not sure when 3CIG departs for EOR.
