An amended version of that timetable will be going up soon; 2N04 should read 10:40 departure from Swanage rather than 10:30. Why is it you only notice typo's like that when things have gone to print...?!

Other things to add to the event page are that (as you would expect!) both sets will be heated, taking advantage of the work that's been done over the last couple of years to get a rake of 4 ETH coaches available for the second set. In addition, on the steam set will be added the railway's kitchen car, selling things like bacon butties, soup; scoff that's in keeping with the 'Winter Warm Up' theme.

All I hope, as a complete scrooge, is that there are no damn mince pies on there!

Unfortunately not; primarily as only one of the Bulleid coaches has working lights at this stage, but also because the sets will be broadly the same sets as used during the Santa season, reducing the amount of shunting that needs to be done by the minimal people around on Boxing Day.

We will be there to do a mix of travelling and linesiding as last year, the latter mainly at Harmans Cross. Which direction are the engines facing?

This was a perfect day. Swanage is a very professional railway, they organised the event brilliantly with plenty to see and do. Loved the way the locos kept being switched, and the weather was kind, which always helps! The 33s sounded good, and I enjoyed the two steamers as well. Caught up with some old friends, and avoided the sales madness. Thanks to all concerned. Here's to the next one!
