Talyllyn Railway Winter 2012/2013

The Talyllyn Railway will be undertaking its usual winter maintenance now that the main running season has concluded. The first winter Loco working party has already been held and substantial progress made on preparing the locomotive fleet for the winter and continuing with the overhauls on Locomotives 4 and 6. The Outddor gang will be meeting from 10th to 18th November to undertake resleepering and drainage improvement work on the section between Dolgoch and Quarry Siding, if you would like to come and join in you will be more than welcome, the gang meets at Pendre Station at 08:30 every morning. Meanwhile in the paint shop Carruage 21 is being painted following construction of a new body at Boston Lodge and Carriage 22 is making steady progress on the repairs to its bodywork. The underframe to carriage 22 is also being modified ready for the replacement of the bodywork. Air brake overhauls are also scheduled for the middle of this month. All in all a busy time for the Talyllyn Railway.
